Just like learning to crawl, walk, and recognize ABCs in kindergarten, the human instinct to be curious and to keep learning should never stop.
In the past, if we loved the cartoon Dragon Ball, we would be ready in front of the television every afternoon, eagerly waiting for our favorite show. That interest made us loyal viewers, attentive followers, and happy learners.
As time passes, hobbies change as we grow older. But one thing remains the same — a person only becomes truly skilled in something when there is genuine interest. As the elders say, where there is interest, there is always a way.
The same applies to marriage and the journey of life as a son, a husband, and a father. The desire to become better must constantly be nurtured within us. How can we hope to become a righteous son, a loving husband, and a great father to our mother, wife, and children without the willingness to learn?
Yes, we may have made many mistakes. But it is never too late to begin again — to relearn and to rediscover our curiosity.
Parenting is a long journey. Having many children does not automatically mean we possess sufficient parenting knowledge. Sometimes we go through many phases of trial and error in our effort to become a better father. In the end, our only hope is that our children grow into righteous sons and daughters who benefit their family, religion, community, and nation.
Today, information is at our fingertips. Religious lectures are easily accessible at any time. Parenting knowledge can be learned from many sources. All of this becomes easier when we maintain the curiosity of a child.
Let us continue seeking knowledge.
Let us strive to become great fathers.
A son, a husband, a father — still learning to become the best version of himself.
