Registered as a Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) member in 2006 and later joined The Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM) in 2010, my journey towards becoming a Professional Engineer (Ir.) has been far from straightforward.

Over the years, I made several attempts to sit for the Ir. examination, but each time the journey stopped halfway. Life, commitments, and circumstances often delayed a dream that had quietly remained on my career bucket list for over two decades.

Last year, after witnessing a close colleague successfully achieve his Ir. title, it reignited something within me — a moment of reflection, motivation, and what I truly believe was hidayah and taufik. I realised that unfinished dreams deserve another chance, no matter how long they have been postponed.

I have visited this building multiple times with one clear intention — to one day walk away carrying the title Ir. Alhamdulillah, after more than 21 years in the engineering industry, this long journey has finally reached its finishing line.

A reminder to myself and others: long-held dreams are meant to be pursued, not abandoned. Sometimes, the right time is simply when we decide to continue.
